Stay or Go

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

Hi everyone. I live in northern Virginia close to airport. I work at Georgetown university hospital. I've been here for about 3 weeks. I previously worked at Inova as a float. I recently went to prn at Inova because I wasn't sure how I would feel about georgetown and wanted to hold onto my job. Anyway, one of the managers at Inova called and offered me a permanent position in a family practice office 15 minutes from my house. I floated there one day and loved the office and staff. I work in internal medicine/pediatrics at Georgetown. I like the hospital but don't like the department or co workers. It takes about 1 1/2hr to get to work depending on traffic. I need help! What should I do? Stay at Georgetown or go back to Inova full time?

Seems like an easy choice, not quite sure what makes it so hard. Did you not mention the position with Inova was 15 mins from your house and that you loved the office and staff? That would definitely be my choice.

Or even better - switch to PRN at Gerogetown and take the offer at Inova. No commuting headaches. When it comes to commute, you can always ask at Georgetown to give you weekend shift so commute would not be a headache plus all schedulers love having people who are willing to pick up weekend shifts :)

from what I see within your post I would definitely say INOVA for you!! 15 min from home and you LOVE the staff! That's probably the place that will make you the happiest. If you don't take it I think you will regret it in the long run! Like the other post says you can always work Flex at Georgetown!
