Need a new start!! Thinking of relocationg

I am really thinking about moving OUT OF NY to either VA or TX. I've lived in the Newport News area and loved the quiet, serene country like life. But I was thinking of VaBeach. I'm not a RN yet, so my question is what type of LPN jobs are available in Va? I am willing to commute if the pay is better in one city vs the one I end up residing in. My experience include Med/Surg in a hospital, Clinics(Medicine and OB/GYN) and Correctional nursing. Thanks to all those who reply.

starbucknurse:

not sure if this will help you but i have provided this website in several other threads.

review this website: http://www.theagapecenter.com/hospitals/index.htm

the website contains a list of all medical facilities (hospitals) in the u.s. and virgin islands. on the left-hand side of the screen it has buttons to select hospitals by category (psych, military, teaching, heart, cancer...).

the local newspaper, the virginian-pilot, has very slim pickin's when it comes to job postings for nursing jobs (lpns and rns) but you may want to view their help-wanted section, online. also, keep in mind that many facilities are not actually posting jobs in the newspaper, they require you to go to their online employment/career link to view job openings (...much cheaper than paying for a newspaper ad...).

i would suggest you use the agape center website and click on the hospital/facility link you are interested in. once there, review available job openings online.

off the top of my head, i know the following facilities are in need of lpns right now: mfa (also known locally as chesapeake healthcare, norfolk healthcare, virginia beach healthcare, etc.) , lake taylor transitional care center and sentara healthcare (nursing homes).

good luck!
