MCI Virginia Beach ADN Program

U.S.A. Virginia

Hello all, Im interesed in attending MCI in Virginia Beach for the ADN Program. Ive already completed A&P 1 & 11 at TCC and would like to know if those transfer and what grade would be required to transfer them to MCI? Also what have been your experiences at MCI as far as things you like and dislike about the program?

Hi.. I haven't "officially" started yet, I start the RN program on Monday, but I did take my pre-reqs there. I liked it, the advisors are pretty helpful. Just don't let them try and sucker you into taking the LPN program first. They tried it with me and I told them it was RN or nothing. So I did well in my pre-reqs and TEAS and got in. The teachers can be touch or go sometimes. When did you take the A&P course? From my understanding, they don't take any credits over 3 yrs old. Unless you obtained them in high school like I did for English. Sorry I wasn't much help lol. Good luck!

Thanks for your response! It definitely has been over 3 years since taking the A&P courses and pretty much all of the credits for the nursing program. I really don't want to do them all over again...But If I must to finish in 18 months then I may have to. Theres no way Im doing the LPN program lol. Good luck with the program!!! Ill be hoping to start in May.

Yeah I know what you mean. You take A&P once you get in, the only pre-reqs they require is Computer Apps (boring! But easy haha), Chemistry, and Algebra. I advise the hybrid Algebra class if you can (that's what I'm doing) because it's pretty easy. Only have actual class on Fridays. PM me if you would like!

What if you've taken all of the pre-reqs and non nursing classes in the curriculum? my credits are only a year old and I've done ALL of the classes with a C and above... except a computer class. I wonder if they would accept my credits. Only thing i do NOT want to do is pay 50k :nono:

Its not that expensive (for me anyway) with financial aid I really don't have to pay as much. As far as the classes go I do believe you can transfer all your non nursing classes, I was able to even the pre-reqs. Have you gone and talked to anyone from the school Lexi695

nope not yet...the only thing from stopping me is the cost of the program. I live by the newport news campus so hopefully i can talk to someone without trying to sucker me into the program so fast lol

Lol oh yeah don't let them try and make you take the entrance exam and stuff because they WILL. Stand your ground, I had to because if it was up to them I wouldn't been enrolled in the LPN program now instead of the rn.

What did you get on your teas? if you don't mind me asking, finally going to talk to someone in may i believe

Sorry for the late response but I got 90s on all but my science. I think I got in the 80s on that.
