MCI in Richmond...Possible?

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

Hello Everyone,

Any little advice would be awesome.

I am currently taking classes to become a Medical Assistant at RSHT. The classes are accelerated, but I am bored. I have straight As and I don't feel as though I am being challenged enough. I have always wanted to become a nurse and I am considering the RN program at MCI.

At RSHT I jumped in as soon as possible (well kind of forced actually), and I didn't know much about what I was getting into. I have a meeting with the admissions rep Monday at MCI. I need to know any of your opinions on this program.

Also, anything about their accreditions, passing rate, and graduate to job ratio would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

The Virginia Board of Nursing lists the NCLEX passrates and accreditation status of all nursing programs in Virginia at http://www.dhp.virginia.gov/nursing/nursing_edprogs.htm. The MCI-Richmond program has Provisional approcal from the Virginia Board of Nursing. It looks to be a new program and is not accredited nationally yet. There are no NCLEX results for graduates of MCI-Richmond (which further suggests that it is a new program).

i might be late but it cost 41,000 and it seems like a good program but also i have heard that because it is new alot of places raise an eyebrow. If it was not so much money I would try it.
