Recently found out I was accepted! I put down my deposit and completed the background check. Although I am waiting to hear back from another school, I am pretty sure LC is where I will end up. I am very excited!! :) Any advice from students currently in the program or have graduated? Any suggestions on housing? I will be relocating from out of state.

hopefulkim99, from my research it looks like the program is about $490 per credit hour. In state and out of state tuition are the same. The total cost of tuition for the five semesters is around $26,500. That does not include books, extra fees, housing etc. Not too bad compared to other private schools. It's actually one of the cheapest schools I applied to. Very excited about starting here! Have you applied already? Maybe we will be future classmates :)

hopefulkim99, I applied at the end of September. I heard of my admission status by the beginning of October. Very quick turn around. It's rolling admision. I had all prerequisites completed by Spring 2016. This will be your second degree, right? What was your first degree in? Which prerequisites are you working on? Will you be applying at the end of this semester when classes are over? What are your stats? I am sure you'll probably get in. I started a thread for students applying this cycle. You're the only person I've talked to thus far. https://allnurses.com/pre-nursing-student/lynchburg-college-may-1071353.html

REALLY? ?? I can't believe they got back to you so fast! I wonder if I could apply while still taking prerequisites hmmmm.

Liberal Arts major so I'm missing all of the sciences. :(Just started A&P 1). I'm not sure the other prerequisites at the moment. My gpa in my prior degree is around 3.3 almost 3.4. Hoping to get a 4.0 in prereqs lol in my perfect world. Just to offset my mediocre gpa. What were your stats?

Before I applied I sent a copy of my unofficial transcripts to the program via email and asked for an unofficial review just to see what my chances were of being accepted. The general program email address is on their website. My previous degree was in biology. I took nutrition and developmental psychology locally last semester since those were not required for my first degree. My prerequisite GPA was about a 3.3 and my GPA from all colleges attended was a 3.39. Good luck!

That's a great idea! Maybe I'll contact them for an unofficial review to determine my odds. I'm missing (chem, a&p, nutrition) . But maybe they'll Almay atleast let me know if I stand a chance with my current stats. Thanks! Congrats on your acceptance!

Hello, I wanted to know if anyone who has graduated from Lynchburg could give me more information on going back to their home state to take the NCLEX? I will possibly be attending Lynchburg beginning in May (still waiting to hear back from other schools), but I am considering taking the NCLEX in NC (my home state). I have done some research on the NCBON website and saw that NCBON just requires that students who went to an out of state program have a transcript sent to them directly from that nursing program. I couldn't find if I would need to take any additional classes while in the program. Any help from someone who has been in this situation would be greatly appreciated :)

Hey everyone! I know this is an old post but I'm planning to apply to the accelerated nursing program at Lynchburg and hopefully start next May. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on if there is any difference between having experience when applying vs not having any and if that plays a major role in the selection process? I've recently switched from trying to go to vet school to nursing so I likely won't have any experience aside from maybe some volunteer experience(if I can find some) and I'm worried that will hurt my chances. Any advice would be really appreciated and thanks!

Experience is not required, just have all the prerequisites, GPA above 3.0(ideally 3.3), and have a strong and well written essay you should be fine.

Hi dhammy, good luck! I'm sorry to hear about vet school, but nursing is such a good choice ;) I just started my ABSN program three weeks ago. It's a lot of work, but I know it'll be worth it in the end. LC looks mainly at your grades. Not so much experience, but experience is a plus. I think you have to write a personal statement for them, but I can't remember. My cumulative GPA was a 3.34 when I applied and I had no problem getting in. From what I've been told, they prefer a prereq GPA over a 3.0. The biggest tip that I have is to apply as early as you can! Good luck!

Thank you guys so much for your replies! I really appreciate it. I was wondering if you could answer one more question I have. I'm trying to figure out whether or not you have to have all of the prereqs done by the time you submit your application or if you can still have one in progress. I've emailed the program but still haven't heard back yet. I have As and Bs in all of the prereqs so far but still have to take A&P l and ll. I plan to take the first one this summer but want to apply as early as possible like you all suggested so I likely will still have A&P ll in progress. Do you know if that's allowed or do you strictly have to have them all completed by the time of the application being submitted? Thank you guys again for all of the help and advice!
