Should I renew?

by lvnurs9

I work in the NICU. I like BUSY... where I'm at now is too low acuity for me. I am bored out of my mind!! My contract is up the 21st of Dec (I actually extended for 2 weeks already). I really don't want to renew, but there is nothing posting and there will be nothing at least until after the Holidays. I know I can renew here... but I am going to be out of town from the 22nd through Jan 7th. So, should I hold out until Jan and see what happens, or just suck it up for now and renew??

Ugh...

I was exceptionally bored at my last assignment. When the head nurse asked if I was willing to renew, I had to politely say no. Like you, I like busy! Now, I'm taking a month off and getting back into the mix after new years. You can always specify with your recruiter that you want a higher acuity NICU. It's level 3-4 for NICU right?

Ya I think I will probably wait until I get back, but I don't want to shut any doors in case I need to sign on again! There are a few other units, but no one is hiring right now. I just don't want to wait too long... I don't have that much money
