Rout to becoming a Traveling Nurse

Hi everyone I'm Andra,

As of right now I want to become a traveling nurse. All I want is to get my RN and BSN? (Bachelor of Science in Nursing? Does that come second? Do I need both?) & any other qualifications I need to look good to agencies hospitals or what ever and go to school in the cheapest and fastest way. Is that possible? Can I go to a community college and transfer somewhere to get a higher degree?

Thank you so much!! :)

Working backwards, you need to have RN experience to be hired as a traveling nurse, relevant to the positions you'd be eligible for. You have to have a job first, harder to come by for new grads. You have to have graduated from an accredited nursing program. BSN's are the most marketable, but still tough in some areas even with that. Having relevant pre grad work experience, making a strong impression in your clincials, knowing someone..all help.

I am a travel nurse with an Associates degree. All I needed to start traveling was 1 year of experience. Bsn not required most places as I have never been turned down for any position I put in for.
