Anyone have any travel experience in the San Diego area recently? My wife is a Labor and Delivery RN and we're looking to travel within the next few months. She is currently talking with recruiters. Any recommendations regarding hospitals, pay, cost of living? I think we would take the housing stipend as there are a few places on craigslist that look interesting.

That may be a tall order. Ive seen a couple of ER assignments in SD and they had a ton of applicants. San Diego gets very crowded April-Sept every year.. Plus the rents go up with all the vacationers coming to town.

We're hopeful still... How do you know how many applicants there were for the positions that you'd stated above? Are you a recruiter? What are your thoughts about Santa Barbara? Similiar to San Diego at all?

The fact that the postings opened and closed the same day tells me they had a ton of applicants. Plus I live in AZ and just about everybody I know whats to work in CA April--Sept. Most will even take less $$ knowing the cost of living is alot higher... Anything to escape the heat!
