Fresno Community Hospital (Fresno, CA)

Has anyone have any information on Fresno Community Hospital in Fresno, CA? I am contemplating taking an assignment in L&D there in August. The pay rate is great!! So, is there something I need to know. Someone, holla back!

It will be very hot in August, so be prepared for the heat. I am actually living in the area doing a travel assignment, and love the area. I am at another hospital though.

Well, how is Fresno overall besides HOT? The heat will not be a problem as I am originally from Texas. If you find anything out about Fresno Comm. Hospital just let me know. But, do tell about the city. I am curious to know what to expect. Thanks.

I love the city. Have extended my contract for the third time, but I am in the northern part of the city, definitely not south side. Yosemite is about one hour away, mountains surrounding the region (the Sierras), you can snow at the top of them, fresh produce stands with Farmer's Markets all over.
Everyone has a barbecue. If you like casinos, there are several very close.
Medical care is very good, for the most part.

Hope that this helps.............. :Melody:

OH NOOOOO! The pay is great for a reason. Please don't go there. I have a friend that traveled there and she hated it. It's an unsafe facility and she said she feared for her license every time she went to work. Who are you traveling with? She was with Core Medical and she (& her friend she went with) told her recruiter about the unsafe environment and told the recruiter she should not sent nurses there. The recruiter sent a 3rd nurse there knowingly. My friend never even interviewd (red flag) the recruiter just called and said "they want you". I also worked with a nurse in Seattle that had worked there also....same story.

If the money is what you are wanting send me a private message & I'll tell you about a hospital in CA with a huge bonus. Not exactly the beach but the money is great.

Have never been to that facility, but I love Fresno. And there are other hospitals here.

Be aware that whenever someone is offering such a good pay rate there are usually problems associated with it.

Fresno is hot and smelly in summer; there are lots of gangs and your L and D job will be many pts who don't speak English. Take a job in Sacramento instead. When you are traveling, don't take any job you don't interview for...something is wrong when they don't care who they get!
