My name is Lizzy....and I', three days into my first travel assignment....WISH ME LUCK

My assignment in is in Fort Worth Texas....love the climate....minus the wind....

Any helpful hints for a new traveler???

Congrats on your first assignment. Expect to feel a lot of mixed emotions at first, from "What have I done?" to "why didn't I do this years ago?".

At your new job, ask lots of questions, but absolutely erase from your vocabulary the line "Where I came from we always...." Instead ask "How do you do it here?" and do it their way!

Enjoy your days off - see all the sights, buy a local map and go explore. I like to ask my coworkers "What's fun to do in your area that most tourists don't see?" I've found a lot of great places this way, and frequently someone will volunteer to do thes things with me.

just curious, was your position difficult to get in the current economy? im interested in traveling as well esp an assignment in texas, so im curious what youve found so far.
