AZ/NM Indian Reservation nursing

In Arizona a lot of the reservations are just outside the main cities. I believe only native can live on reservation land, but you shouldn't be more than 45 min drive from the hospital to a main city. So housing wouldn't be too far. Cost of living is pretty low in AZ, most areas offer 1 bed apartments under $700, and luxury 1 beds are around $800. Homes rent in semi rural areas for $700-$1100, an in more major cities and nice areas starting around $1100. As for work culture, I have an RN friend who works in res hospital and she loves it. Says her coworkers are great and management is nice. Says she treats mainly natives, and there are a few cultural differences as far as care wanted, but for the most part very similar to a regular hospital. We do get VERY hot in Summer here. Like 110 or higher is the norm. But fall through spring are nice. We have monsoon season, which is huge dust storms and a few flash floods during summer. Nothing serious, just cool to watch but suck to be stuck in while driving. Overall, its decent here. Im a cali girl born and raised, so there were some adjustments when I came out here, but overall its nice. Hope that helps a bit.

Oh, and we get a lot of snowbirds, so driving in winter sucks because of slow driver and bad drivers.
