Anchorage, AK - Housing Stipend

Does anyone have a feel for the Anchorage, AK housing stipend? I am aware there are many variables including travel agency, negotiation/contract, etc. I am looking for a ballpark.... Anyone traveled to Anchorage before? What did the numbers look like? Rent is fairly steep there.

No such thing as a ballpark when you are talking about different agencies. They all have very different compensation packages and the amount designated for housing is irrelevant. Let's say one has a thousand dollars a month more for housing. Yet when you plug all the numbers into the PanTravelers calculator, they pay less than the other agency's total net pay. Regardless of any number you might hear here, checking that figure against only one agency is a fail because you are not considering total compensation and net pay. You have to get quotes from several agencies for a reality check on what you are worth with your skills and experience in any given location at any given time.

Generally, pay is above average in Alaska though. That is the only ballpark I can provide.

Thanks I suppose that makes sense. Anyone do a travel assignment in Anchorage. What were you looking at for a fully-furnished, short-term housing?
