Who hires new grads in DFW area or Austin?

I realize all of the internships for June are closed and spots are filled for the most part. I have applied at St. Davids, Seton, and Scott and White in the Austin area. I had an interview at Scott and White and waiting to hear back, but they might end up hiring an experienced RN so I am feeling doubtful. My grades are high and I feel that I interview well, but I am feeling really down about not finding anything. I think I applied a little late. :(

I've applied to many Dallas area hospitals and have not received any calls. Besides the internships, who else hires new grads? Or does anyone know of any hospital in these cities that hires new grads.. not necessarily an internship but hires with no previous experience? I'm desperate to find a job! Thanks :)

Specializes in Neonatal ICU.

Parkland in Dallas still had a few June internship job postings up last time I looked. I graduated in December and the Seton network (primarily Brackenridge) interviewed a lot of my classmates after graduation. Perhaps they are doing the same thing again? I also know that St. Davids did a lot of hiring late as well.

Have you tried LTC facilities? Rehab hospitals? Public health facilities? Psych hospitals? A lot of these are open to having new grads. Also look into the more rural areas around you. Austin and DFW are tough markets for new grads, as are most major urban centers these days, but there are opportunities in smaller communities that don't have the same new rate of new grads every few months hitting the market. May not be your dream job but it will get you the experience that will in time make you the preferred hire over a new grad.
