Hi everyone,

I applied to UTMB for the Bacc-2 and didn't make the cut. Now I'm waiting to hear back for the regular BSN program. My application has been complete at UTMB since September.

Anyone else apply to UTMB?

Does anyone know when we might hear something?? I know it is still very early.

thanks

Adrian,

I'm in the same boat as you are - not accepted into teh bacc2 and waiting to hear from UTMB about fall 2008. A current student posted in another thread that they are seeing new recruits coming in for interviews, so I don't know whether all the interview invitations have been made yet or not. I called admissions and they told me the same thing they have been telling me since November, "your application is being reviewed". I'll let you know if I hear anything and you can do the same. We will keep each other company during this anxiety-filled time. :)

This really sucks. I'm starting to think the UT system simply hates me or has me on some sort of "do not admit ever list". I've also applied at HCC and have completed every requirement except I need to take Pharmacology in May to start in the Fall 08. HCC is my back up but I'm really hopping for a BSN.

I didn't even know UTMB was doing interviews for the regular BSN program... :-( *SIGH*

Anyone out there know if the interview letters for Fall 2008 BSN program at UTMB galveston have been sent?

Has anyone heard any news or had any correspondence with UTMB for the Fall 2008 BSN program yet? I have heard nothing...this is really worrying me.

Adrian, I have not heard anything from them. I emailed the admissions advisor a few weeks ago to inquire about interviews for the Fall 2008 program as their website is not clear. She said that they will hold interviews for the Fall 2008 semester and hope to have their interview selections made by mid to late March. I am starting to get nervous too but I think we should know something by April 1 (at least whether we get an interview.) Good luck!

As of last week they were still making decisions as to who will get interviews... this week is Spring Break so there is limited staff (don't expect to get an answer this week) April 1st may be a lil too soon.... I'd give it til mid April.... I know the wait is LONG and horrible (I was in yalls shoes not too long ago)

Also remember, most schools accept their first batch of students and some of those change their minds, accept other schools and such.. so all summer long more spots will open up... I knew a few students that got a call the night before orientation to let them know they were accepted because others had decided against the school.... its not what you want to hear, but don't give up!!!

Thanks for posting that Jezziemis! Hope your Spring Break is going well!

As Jezziemis pointed out, I was one of the few students that received a call after one day of orientation. Initially, I had not been accepted, but I was persistent by calling the admission's department and letting them know about my strong desire to attend this school.

I know how the waiting made me feel less than a year ago and can relate to how some of you may feel - But HANG in there!.

So folks, relax, let the admissions people do what they need to do and hope for the best! It's all you can do at this point.

I'm no longer worried about getting in for the Bacc-2 and I highly doubt they will be calling me after orientation (not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic). The thing I'm worried about is the fact that my admissions file has been completed since September 2007 and I havent heard anything about the Regular BSN program. If they can send me an email every month or so telling my file is complete, why don't they send emails out to let the applicants know that they are changing their admissions process or at least post it on their website?

Hopefully, we will hear some news by April. I would even be relieved to get a denial letter at this point just to have some closure. :grn:

Those emails you keep getting are coming form enrollment services not the school of nursing. They are also automated emails that everyone gets... They haven't let you, or anyone know anything yet because they don't send out anything until after the cut off date, and after they review everyone and start making decisions... which is sometime in the next few weeks. You would be amazed at how many applications come through and the committee reviews EVERY WORD on them. This takes time, so please be patient, they really are working hard and as fast as they can, while still being fair to every applicant.

I'm also waiting for a response from UTMB BSN program, and I am very nervous about not hearing anything from them apart from an e-mail saying that my application has been processed.

Hopefully soon we'll get some good news...

Ditto, Evolution. I have not heard anything from UTMB. Although, now I don't really care since I've thankfully been accepted at UTHSC Houston.
