Hi,

I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

I think you need to look at your "to do list" box, and that should indicate what needs to be accomplished.

Yep Cynthia I believe so, for the most part. I think there have been people with a green circle even if they still have some prereqs though. I'm thinking it's just a weird system and nothing seems consistent with how they process the applications in regards to "complete" and "incomplete/wait list"

Yeah bc they have my transcript.. They sent me an eval.. And i asked admissions and the lady told me they had received it and wouldn't take it off the to do list until they got my final transcript

Got my transcript evaluation today :) but my overall does not look too hot... Pray for me guys.

Sunday evenings are good for me 2.

Got my transcript eval yesterday too :) I dont remember but did someone earlier say they only look at prereq GPA and not overall? Correct me if mistaken

The SON has said they only consider HESI scores and pre-req/science GPAs. I don't know if that's actually the case because applicants with high scores/GPAs have been turned down in the past. :\

Still waiting for my transcript eval. :(

You should call or email the SON. I did, and I got mine almost a month ago, about a week after I requested them...

I requested an evaluation like a month ago and they barely emailed me yesterday and told me that they are still trying to go through applications. They said not everyone will receive one but they are trying to go through them as fast as possible.

I've been thinking that a possible reason for people with high GPAs and good scores don't get in sometimes because maybe the school had already filled the possible slots? Since they only accept around 80/semester it seems like just a numbers game you know? I of course don't know this for sure, just speculation but it would make sense. If i don't get in this semester I'm going to keep applying and cross my fingers lol
