[color=#008000]hello guys... i'm creating this post to keep track of acceptance into the adn program at san jacinto college.

I JUST decided to apply with San Jac for this fall! I was accepted with Alvin for summer but could not start due to wk schedule(very disappointed) so Im really hopn to get in:eek: .I just need to take Math so I will be taking that during the summer. I already took the HESI for another school, does anyone know if they will accept it?

If I'm not mistaken you have to have taken the HESI within the application period for the nursing program, so that's the first thing you gotta have down... Then call the nursing dept and ask them how... (you probably have to sign in to your evolve acc and email em over). Not sure. Call Tiff @ the nurs dept.

That makes a lot of sense. It appears that the HESI is also testing your ability to eliminate choices. In terms of vocabulary... my study guide and .... it appears every study guide out there has the SAME words!!! 0.o Does this mean those words are likely to be asked on the exam? has anyone noticed a majority of the words you were tested over having been on your study guides...

typical words like: overt, triage, concave, untoward, proliferation... so on...

The math I feel confident on. What's the whole point of the addition and subtraction questions... we get to use the computer calculator... I wish I knew why they even ask those..! I mean... come on, there's a calculator. Fractions I got down for sure. I know all the tricks for add/sub mult/div and changing to decimal and percent.

Guess what I'm trying to cement into my mind is.... conversions like...

30ml = 1 oz

1 pint = 16 oz

1 gallon = 128 oz (8 pints in 1 gallon) so ... (8 X 16 = 128)

1 pound = 16 oz

1 inch = 2.54 cm

1000 meters in a KILOmeter

1000 grams in a KILOgram (;

100 cm in a meter

10 mm in for every cm

Any other important conversions? I feel these are the most important and healthcare related.

Hope I'm not talking too much. haha I noticed that writing things out and typing things out helps me learn if I think someone else will use it... I hope it does come handy to someone... even if you can easily find this on Google... I feel these conversions are most important.

There are A LOT of pint and cups conversions and proportions on math. Vocabulary is basically from study guide (by evolve). Math is sooooooooo easy, but vocabulary and reading is a little tricky.

How did the HESI go? I am just going to to retake mine to get a higher score. I didn't think it was too difficult. ACT is much worse!! Is everyone on this forum an LVN? I didn't see a specific forum for LVN-RN transition for fall.

Nope. I'm doing the generic ADN.

Got a 91 on HESI. Woo

91 is great! Did you take it on campus or off site?

Took it on campus.

For ME.

Easiest was from Easy to Hard:

Math.

Bio&A&P

Vocabulary

Reading Comp

Grammar.

As you can tell I'm a math science person.

XD

And the evolve program said I was ....

ummm a kinetic-analytical learner.

I wish everyone good luck and I hope we ALL make it. Let's keep contact via this board until late July when we know at last!!!

I know you guys have yet to hear whether youre in or not but I have san jac scrubs i am looking to give away. I have about 3 scrub tops for class and 2 clinical tops all size small. My pants I had altered and I doubt if they will fit anyone as I am barely 5'0". Message me your email or number and we can set something up.

Is anyone doing the night program, and also do you have to have an overall of 75, or 75 or higher in everything?
