Prairie View A&M Nursing Applicants Spring 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I was wondering if anyone is applying for Prairie View A&M Nursing program for Spring 2013. I have seen previous application cycles but none for Spring 2013. If you are applying or previously applied I would love to hear from you.

And BTW, i'm done with all my classes, was done in the summer and I have a previous degree in Business Management..

@ bluedolls

I met u at the other forum but I think this forum is going to pick up than the other one because this one is easy to search. Anyways, you have a good chance of getting in because I see people get in with 3.5 GPA and also you are done with your classes which is great because Mrs A told me that they take people who are done with all their classes first before people who are still enrolled so just study for hesi and I know you will be just fine.

@ naao..

You're so right .. the other forum is pretty slow.. but people seem to be more active on here..

well i'm super crossing my finger that my grades will pull me thru.. As of now, i've left it to God to take control..

But from what i've been hearing, Its alot easier to get into PV. They admit alot of qualified students... But then its very hard to get out because the CON is pretty hard...

Ugh... I hate that I'm still taking 2 classes :( Hope it doesn't get in the way of getting accepted

That is why im worrying so much about it. Because I'm still in the process of finishing two classes...which sucks because they are super easy and fast classes....hopefully I get SOMETHING by mail lol....anticipation is killing me!

But Good luck to all you guys!!!!!

Are you still waiting for the purple form? When did you complete your application?

Is this program 2 years? Does it run through the summer?

Hello everyone! I am a current student at PVAMU CON. I want to say good luck to everyone on your applications!

Swweetipie, PVAMU's BSN program is 5 semesters. You can do some semesters in the summer, but not all of them. If you were to take your full load in the Fall and Spring semester, like I did, then you'll finish in 2.5 yrs. Like I said, you do get an option to take some classes in the summer.

Hello lovely_kanwal4u! Can you give us any info on what they are expecting in regards to who gets accepted? I know it difficult to know that info but I guess basing it on your stats and your classmates

My classmates' GPA is anywhere above 3.0. They do take everyone who has completed all the requirements (passed HESI, complete pre-reqs, complete application, etc). They do prefer ppl who have everything completed, but they still do take ppl who are taking couple of classes. As someone mentioned earlier that it is really easy to get in PV compared to other schools, but it is HARD to stay in PV and graduate! I am not trying to sound scary, but that's the TRUTH. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions; I'll try my best to answer them.

Do you mean students are having a difficult time with the program because it is really hard?

Every nursing program is hard, especially BSN programs. But, it’s doable, and you CAN graduate. They prepare you so you can be ready to face the real nursing world.
