U.S.A. Texas

Published

I obtained my Nursing Training in The UK, took and passed The New York State board, and have worked as a LPN for 25+ years in New York. Why do I have to Varify my Nursing Training from The UK. I was given a Temporary Texas Licensed.

Secondly would I be able to work in a Nursing Home Facility as a ADN, when I obtained my Texas LVN License.:nurse

Thanking you in advance for your response.

Hello and welcome to allnurses.com

Good to have you with us.

One of the requirements for endorsement to Texas is:

Completion of an approved school of vocational/practical nursing with a minimum grade of "C" in all nursing courses.

http://www.bon.state.tx.us/end-eligibility.htm

This is why you have to verify graduation from your school of nursing in the UK.

would I be able to work in a Nursing Home Facility as a ADN, when I obtained my Texas LVN License

I'm sure you would if you meet the job qualifications as outlined in the job description.

Good luck and we hope you enjoy allnurses.com

I have sent off my verification Forms to The United Kingdom, I am concern if my Temoriary Texas License expires and my Verification was not received by The Texas Board.

I want to keep my New York State License active, to enable me to work when ever I visit the State.

Thanking your for your response.

If you are concerned that the Texas BON has not received your paperwork, you need to contact them about this specifically.

You can keep your NY license as long as you pay the required fees for relicensure.
