Hybrid or Partial Week Nursing Programs in Texas

U.S.A. Texas

Updated:   Published

Hi!

Does anyone know of any hybrid (online and classroom) nursing programs (RN or LVN)?

Also, does anyone know of any schools that meet only 2-3 times a week with weekend clinicals (LVN or RN)?

Thanks alot for your help! :redbeathe

Specializes in Emergency Nursing.

Not sure what part of Texas you are in, but the RN program at some of the branches of Lonestar college (in north Houston) offers weekend clinicals and we have twice a week classes either day or night.

Hi, Thanks for the response! I'm in the DFW area. That's still good to know though.:)

Hi, I'm in Dallas and I'm positive that there is a weekend LVN program around here somewhere, because I have a coworker that is currently in it. It isn't one of the junior colleges, it's at one of those career training institute type places. Sorry I don't know the name of it, but I thought knowing it existed might help and give you an idea of what direction to "google" in! Good luck!

Thanks Cat!

*I know of Concorde Career Institute. I was about to attend there but their tuition went up to about 25K and I can no longer afford it, even with loans.

*Then there is Dallas Nursing Institute. Both of these programs are 2 days a week and saturday/sunday clinicals.

*Then there is NCTC. I took the NET to do there Online LVN program, but they were only accepting like 12-15 people and I know over 100 tried. My NET scores were were close to excellent, but they were not the top 10, so I did not get in.

*I also thought about TAMUCC. I was even willing to drive to CC, but I know this won't work with my full time job. (Husband was laid off, he is a builder)

I'm really trying not to give up on this. But it has been 2 years. I've done my nursing pre-req's, but it would be selfish of me to quit my good job for my "personal" dream. I just don't want the dream to be lost. : (

Sorry! I kinda needed to get that out LOL.

Thx for replying!:nuke:
