Houston ER nursing jobs

U.S.A. Texas

Hello all,

So after being in limbo for awhile it looks like my husband and I will be relocating to the Houston area. We can basically live anywhere in the area so it all just depends on where I will be able to find a job. I'm currently in contact with some recruiters from both Mainland and Clear Lake Medical Centers. Aside from visiting Houston a couple of times and doing research online, I don't really know much about the area or the hospitals in the area. I was wondering if anyone can offer any insight on areas of living in Houston as well as insight on the hospitals there.

FWIW, I currently have 4 years of nursing experience (BSN); 2 years working in a progressive care unit and 2 years working in a level IV trauma center with approximately 40,000 visits annually. I have 1 year of charge nurse experience in the ER (along with additional charge nurse experience while I worked on PCU) along with assistant nurse manager experience in the ER. I also have my PCCN but I'll be going alumnae status with that here soon. Currently working on getting my CEN. Current with BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC. I'm hoping the search won't be too difficult. I basically "grew up" at my current place of employment and although I see it as moving onto bigger and better things, I'm also a little nervous about relocating and starting somewhere new.

Thanks in advance!

Some of the hospitals that I am searching for do not really give any information for their emergency departments. I am interested in this, such as annual visits, ER size/capacity, trauma certification (if applicable), etc. Thanks!
