Hey future :nurse:! I thought I would start a thread to see who was applying for the El Centro/Northlake Spring 2011 program. I am finishing up a couple of prereqs and my HESI this Summer and will be applying in August. It is SO exciting to know that my dreams will be reality very soon! Does anyone know what the lowest points were for the Fall 2010 group? What back up plans do you all have? Best of luck to all of you!

Hello there,

I am looking to start in the spring 2011 at Northlake. It is a career change for me and have a long way to go since I will start my pre-reqs next week. It's a long shot but I'm looking forward to the challenge. My back up plan is to do my support courses and try again for the fall.

What subjects do you have left? And are you doing any support courses? From the sound of it everyone applying completes some if not all of the support courses.

Hey Sal! What career are you in currently? I am in the housing market right now and we all know how well that is going. Ha! What made you decide to switch careers?

I have taken everything but A&P II, Micro and my elective. I will be taking those in the fall. You are correct. Most applicants have taken most, if not all, of their support courses. Have you taken your HESI yet and received your shots?

Hi Megan,

My background is in real estate too. I got into the mortgage lending business back in 02 but moved to selling real estate in 07...I'm just tired of the roller coaster and ready for some stability.

Unfortunately, I just came to that decision and just starting my pre-reqs. I would really love to start the program in the spring but not sure if that's realistic considering the number of applicants who will have the support courses under their belt...competition is fierce when it comes to nursing school. Who would've thought:)?!?

Hi, I am also applying in August once I finish the HESI and some summer courses. I recently graduated from high school school so this will be my first career.

I am planning on applying for the Spring 11. I have taken all support courses. I just have the HESI to take now.

I'm also applying for ECC Spring 2010. I will have all of my support courses done except Micro (which I'm taking in the Fall). I just attended another Info Session yesterday to make sure I had all my ducks in a row. I asked about the minimum number of points that were accepted & Kanora said she couldn't tell me per Joan Becker. From what I've heard, it was around 15, but that's only what I heard from a couple of people. I took the HESI, but I am retaking it next month when I've almost completed A&P II. Oh & I still need my CPR. Best of luck to all of us!! :D

Have you all turned in your apps? Am doing mine, and it says official HESI? So do we not turn in the ones we get from the testing center?

Hey there! I started to put my packet together today and noticed the same thing. I am going to call Kenora first thing tomorrow to get an answer. I also noticed that they require the physical exam to be dated "less than 9 months". I had mine done in April. I will say it is so stressful just putting the packet together! Sigh!:grn:
