I got in! (sigh of relief)

Anxious to get started...I'm ready to learn some nursing skills!

:yeah:

I am just curious how difficult it is to be accepted. I have one class(chemistry) and the HESI left to take. Grade wise I have 2 B's and the remaining A's. Any info is appreciated. Btw, I do know about their current situation.

I recently graduated from their program actually. My family moved down here 6 years ago from Alaska and I went through their E-line program. It was H-E- double hockey sticks. I think they are a bit more organized and the program will be much better for incoming students. It's not easy but it's definitely worth the sacrifice. Rest assured there will be sacrifices. Not just from you but your entire family. Hang in there though. Don't let anyone tell you that "you can't" Good luck!

Thanks for replying and Congrats on completion of the program. I understand the sacrifice everyone will be making. I was in a nursing program in another state before moving here. I had passed my first semester but not the second. Had to do a lot of self teaching my second semester. I'm curious as to how competitive it is to get in. How is the HESI? I had to take the TEAS IV and passed it the first time. I'm just nervous I won't be able to get in the first time. I'd like to hear your experience if you don't mind.

sorry for the late reply. The HESI is not bad at all. It's very basic. Reading, math, Anatomy and Physiology, and Chemistry. I took the test without even knowing what was suppose to be on the test. I showed up to ask questions about the program and they were like "we're giving the HESI today, are you ready to take it now?" I figured what the heck. I got a 92 on it and at that time they told me the average was between 76-84 so I did pretty good. Keep me posted. My e-mail is the same as my username here at gmail. If you need help or reference books I have tons. Good luck!

No worries about the response time. I took the HESI today and am relieved I passed! Now to navigate the application process. That is making me nervous too since I have some not so impressive grades from 1997-1998. I retook some course to improve and well a&p was too old for my other school to use. So my last a&p classes were A's. Praying everything falls into place!

Sorry about the double post.

Are you in the program starting in January 2013?

Yes I am! How about yourself? I'm very curious as to who my fellow classmates will be. The 2011-2012 school year is the only year I've spent at Del Mar and I don't know many people, so I'm kind of nervous.

Specializes in RN.

I'm starting level 1 on the 14th :)

So now that we've had orientation, what's your name? I'm Jessica
