Baptist School of Health Professions (BSHP) Spring 2012

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey guys. I noticed there isn't a thread for this BSHP program. I just got my admission letter by email a couple minutes ago! :D

Is there anybody else who will be going to this school in the Spring?

NenaRK,

I had everything done except Micro.

Nena, when I applied I was still taking Micro but finished before the deadline. I think BSHP deadlines are longer than the other nursing schools in SA.

schmoodle, I turned down SAC as soon as I was accepted at Baptist. I have friends in both programs and was told by everyone to go to Baptist if possible. SAC has had a lot of disorganization and it has caused some students to miss out on necessary classes which they had to wait to take the next semester.

I personally feel Baptist is the best decision for me. :yeah:

Thanks SRA00 and Schmoodle!

I'm trying to gather info so I can be 100% sure of what to expect when it's time for me to apply.

If you don't mind sharing, what was your prerequisite GPA?

thanks yall :nurse:

Nena,

I had a's in everything but a B in psychology. I also got an 88% on the teas

NenaRK,

I had an overall GPA of 3.8 but my prerequisites were 4.0 and I scored an 85 on the TEAS. I was told last semester (I didn't get in) that the average TEAS was 80 for admission and the GPA was 3.75 and higher. I hope this helps.

Hi all! I got in for the Spring as well, I am very excited. :D

I am currently taking A&P 2 and Microbiology at SAC. I will finish those up in December. A lot of students do not know that they can be working on prerequisite classes at the same time that they are applying, I was happy to learn that information!

Does anyone know about the way they hold classes? As in, do all of the students accepted to the Spring program take classes together, or do you register and have classes with different students like you would at SAC or any other school?? (I hope that makes sense..)

I got an 81 on the TEAS.

Anyone live in New Braunfels?? A car pool could be wonderful!

I was told that the first semester you are placed into classes. After that you are able to choose your professors. I believe class time is 8-2 and clinicals are 6:45 to 1pm. Don't hold me to those times but that's what I heard.

hey guys, I also got accepted for the Spring '12 day program. I'm waiting for a couple of school's in houston, but if not I will be attending Baptist.I've done all my pre reqs also, and I also have a BA (I don't know if that helped any). Does anyone know how many people Baptist accepts per semester?

Did everybody get another email today regarding processing day? I wonder if there are different slots for anyone else. Mine is from 9am to 12 pm.

Specializes in CNA.

Still no email saying I'm in...I'm starting to think this won't be the semester for me. Though they did say it could happen any time between now and the end of November. I can't help but be bummed, though.
