ADN course from Dallas Nursing Institute

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi

I am planning to start ADN course from Dallas Nursing Institute and would like feedback from current/ex-students.They say it takes only 15 months to complete (excluding pre-req) the course, so really wondering if its worth doing from there and if its stressful. how tough is it to score 75% every time.

And since the course is quite expensive is there any good college to complete my pre-req in about 4-5 months duration.I would really appreciate if you guys could kindly reply back and guide me.

Totally new to Nursing field.

Thank you.

The ADN program at DNI is brand new. In fact, they have just admitted their very first class of students who have started attending this month.

Since the program is brand new, I don't think that anyone can give feedback on how difficult or stressful it is. After all, no one has attended their ADN program before, so no one can comment yet on whether it is stressful, difficult, or worth it.

Thanx TheCommuter for so fast reply..could you recommend me any community college for pre-req..

Hoping for your reply again..

Thx again

Just about any community college in the DFW area will do.

I live in Fort Worth, so I took my prerequisite classes at Tarrant County College. If you live closer to the Dallas side, any one of the community colleges in the DCCCD will be fine (El Centro, Brookhaven, etc.). Some people even commute to the smaller outlying schools such as NCTC and Hill College.

Thx again The Commuter..your reply was really helpful...

I would really recommend you looking into the Dcccd programs!! There are 2 separate ones, El Centro and Brookhaven. They cost about half of whatever the DNI will charge and the Dcccd programs have really good standings with the area hospitals. Which means they get better clinical days and times, and you can get hired on with teacher referrals. Just look in to it to compare if nothing else ;)

I just looked at the Dallas Nursing Institute's website as I had not heard of it and have just started Brookhaven's ADN program. Just curious. It looks like although they have approval from the Texas Board of Nursing they are not accredited by the NLNAC (National League of Accrediting Association). Maybe that is because they are new or something, I'm not sure but that would be a concern of mine.

tlstudent also made a really good point about clinical days/times/sites and teacher referrals.

As far as Prerequisites, any community college as people have already said.

Good Lick!!
