Hey all! I finally got my first new grad interview...a week before graduation! I am so excited and thankful. Its the only one I have and in this economy, I hope its the last (meaning I get the job of course!). So I have 2 questions. First, I have been in contact with the recruiters for 3 months. One recruiter is receptive and the other does not sound like it.
In a nut shell (kinda): Email from me expressing interest 3 months ago. One recruiter says: Thanks for your interest! Call and let us know when you can come for a tour and get general info! You can start sending apps in a month before graduation. We look forward to hearing from you.
The other recruiter: Thank you for your interest. We usually hire in June and all of our new grad positions are filled at this time. You may apply for a staff nurse position and we will keep your app on file.
Now I finally send an application. Recruiter 1 is nice and happy, saying please have your instructors fill out the reference form. Let me kow when a good time is for you to come.
Recruiter 2: Thank you for your application. We will keep you in mind as positions become available (I applied for 6 positions
So, I gave all the info Recruiter 1 wanted and she called me and set up an interview. She told me how many positions are available and told me I am applying at a great time where the influx of new grads is low. SHe made it sound very promising and that I will have interviews with HR, nurse managers, and a Peer panel. Plus I will do some shadowing.
However, Recruiter 1 will be on vacation during my scheduled interview and I will interview with recruiter 2.
So after this short, but lengthy situation lol, my questions are: Since recruiter 2 has acted all indifferent and uninterested, do you think that will affect my chances in person?? 2nd Question: If I get to move through interview process, what should I expect with the peer panel and overall interview process? Any tips?
This is my first real interview in the formal adult world (interviews at restaurants and fastfood did not count in my book, they were not formal). I want this to go well. I REALLY want this job!!!
Thanks for reading and for your input!
