I am very interested in this type of work when I finish the RN portion of school. I will be a new grad though. Do they hire new grads?

They are looking for RNs with 3 years minimum experience.

They have given me some details, and the posting states that the training will be in Florida. I wanted to know if anyone who had actually gone through the training as an employee had any input.

I will be starting soon as well. Training in FL (Dec). I will be visiting homes. I am a little nervous about the negative comments but Humana must be doing something right for it to be such a thriving company.

I have been there not too long, 9mo) and am looking. Too stressful, too much work caseloads, as far as ur. you know the usual. the metrics justify staff. the metrics are there. Medicare have turn around times. you don't meet it, snowball effect, it affects your performance, plus CMS guidelines. I am tired of that endless rat race. Not what I signed up for. I do sooooooo much case management. its not just UR with milliman/Robertson, extending the days. at rounds they wanna know what u are doing to get them outta there, yes we round 2 days a week on people with los greater than 7 especially with snf patients. those lil old people are so used to their ways and living alone, go to a snf....doing dc planning, and then there is nobody for them to go home with.....anyhoo, its too much for me. Medicare is harddddddd. I want OUT! AND working at home alone with it is more, especially if you haven't done it. Nobody to look over your shoulder, or you can't stand up and look over a cubie for help. Not to mention the letters you must submit, per CMS guidelines for certain thing. Being that you work at home, you will continue to work, to stay caught up, trust me, you will want to TRY and stay caught up. The faxes come in so fast. This is from a UR work at home nurse
