Where to Take TEAS in TN

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Hey guys!

I'm currently going to the University of Tennessee at Martin and will graduate in May 2017 with a Bachelor's in Health and Psychology, but I'm looking enroll in an Accelerated BSN program for Fall 2017. I'm looking to apply at UT Health Science Center, the University of Memphis, and Union University at either the Germantown or Jackson campus.

I noticed that UTHSC was the only one that included that you had to take the TEAS on their website, but I've read on different discussions here on allnurses that applicants also had to take them for Union and UofM. I feel like that's right, but I don't know where I'm missing that on the websites. I emailed UofM asking about it, but they just said that for Fall 2016 applicants didn't have to take TEAS. Typo (supposed to say "2017", not "2016") or naw?

I'm not applying for the schools until August because I'll be taking my A&PII in July and wanted to be able to just send in my transcripts once, so I haven't really been able to look at each school's actual application yet.

I saw where UTHSC is offering their applicants to take the TEAS on their campus, but can you use the test score you get there to use for the other schools' applications? I looked on the ATI website, and the closest location that was offering it was at Dyersburg Community College, but that was also just for applicants for their school, so that was a no go. The only other ones seemed to be on the other side of the state during the week through this fall semester, which I definitely cannot do because of classes and all that good stuff. I didn't see, however, UTHSC on the ATI site, but I don't know if that means anything, really, just an observation.

So, what I'm asking is: 1. Do all three schools need the TEAS or just UTHSC? 2. If you lived in Western TN (in Memphis, for instance, like moi) and if you're planning on taking the TEAS, where are you taking them? Or if you've already taken there, where did you do it?

I hope this long thing makes sense! I started studying for this thing like 2 weeks ago, I'm really determined to be a successful nurse, so this issue has got me freaking out. Any help is fabulous! Thank you!
