Science portion question

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Hi all,

So my exam is next month and I have been using the ATI TEAS Study Guide version V to prep...and I decided to purchase another book for more help called the Trivium Test Prep TEAS V Study Guide 2015. Now I know that ATI makes the exam so I know it's a very good base to study from, but when I looked into the Trivium book, there were two body systems (skeletal and muscular) that were talked about in extremely great detail, and the ATI guide does not mention these systems in depth the way the Trivium guide does...in fact the ATI guide barely mentions them at all. No pages are dedicated solely to these two systems the way the Trivium book does it.

My question I guess is should I be studying the skeletal and muscular systems in depth just in case? Or should I base most of my studying on the ATI guide and the fact that they barely mention these two systems? If anyone can answer this, that would be great!

basically does anyone know if the muscular or skeletal systems will be on the exam??

I've taken the exam once and can say it was very similar to the ati practice tests and study guide. All the systems have a chance to be on the exam, so you should study all of them. The questions though are usually rather broad; I'd find it highly unlikely that you'd get a question about what a specific muscle is called or anything like that. You more need to know things like what the difference between skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle are and where they're generally located or how muscles work physiologically. Same type of questions with the skeletal system. If you do well on the science portions of the ati practice exams, you will very likely do well on the science portions on the actual test.

Make sure you know chemistry well!!!!

Make sure you know chemistry well!!!!

Do you know where I can get additional help with the Chemistry or do you think the ATI study manual has sufficient information on the Chemistry? Struggling with the Chemistry concepts.

Use khan academy on YouTube and also other videos associated with chemistry. I found videos help explain everything easier.

Thank you I will search for those videos.

I am scheduled to take the TEAS on March 8 and I graduated high school 34 years ago. I have never had chemistry or biology. The pre-req science for the nursing program in my college is A&P1 and A&P2. I am overwhelmed when I look at the ATI study guide. I am in college full-time this semester and finding time to study for the TEAS when I'm always having to study for another class is hard. Any suggestions?
