What kind of grade range is being looked at?

Hi there! I've been reading some of the recent threads on how getting into CRNA school has been getting incredibly difficult, so the obvious reaction would be that I'm a bit concerned if I could ever make it in. I'm currently a Junior finishing up my 4yr degree in chemistry, but my GPA is virtually 3.0 and I'm pretty sure my science GPA is lower, got a C- in one quarter physics, 2 Cs during the organic chemistry sequence and i get As and Bs in the rest of my sciences, though i still have alot of biorelated prereqs (anatomy, microbiology,nutrition) to take at a community college to get into the BSN schools. I've also been doing volunteer work during available weekends at a health clinic if that counts for anything. So i'm curious as to what kind of candidates get accepted to CRNA schools? Do they focus more on your nursing experience and nursing sciences more? Thanks for the help.

You should look into an accelerated 2nd degree program. I had a BS in General Science and did my elementary ed as well so I had the prereqs complete. You rock through it in a year and it is great! I would have had to wait a year just to get on a wait list for Comm. college and forget trying to get into the university classes in a timely fashion.

From what I have been told, they really only care about your nursing GPA for the most part (some programs count your last 60 credits), but your chem background is an awesome benefit because they like the science minded. I have a 3.42 in my first BS and I have a 3.56 for my nursing GPA. I still feel pretty nerve wracked, but was told I am very competitive. I think it depends on the program you are interested in and basically what the stats and interviews of your opponents/future classmates are like.

In summary, rock your Nursing classes! Good luck!:yeah:

Oh and I left out a bit. I have three good friends that have gotten into school and they all had 3.6 s. Must be the magic number...lol (thats why I am nervous...lol... maybe they will round up my 3.56 to a 3.6... In a perfect world...ha)

So what your saying is if i do considerably well on my last year of college and burn straight through the acc.bsn with flying colors, i should be doing alright then?
