Scranton / Wyoming Valley CRNA program

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello all I have been searching for any information on the University of Scranton/ Wyoming Valley's Nurse Anesthesia program and cannot find any recent posts. Does anyone know anything about this program or interview process?

Also, I noticed that this school is not ranked very high on the US News' ranking of Nurse Anesthesia schools. Does anyone know why some schools are ranked higher than others and do these rankings accurately reflect the quality of the school's education and the school's ability to prepare me to become a great anesthesia provider? I read the rankings with a grain of salt as I believe that with anything in life it is our own responsibility to make the best of any opportunity that we are given - whether it is at the number one school of the last ranked school. Thanks in advance for your help!

I am approved from the director of graduate nursing to take a course through the university of Phoenix to replace Issues in Advanced Practice nursing which is the first nursing course this fall. You just need a B or better. I know most of you already have this course covered, but for those who don't the university of phoenix course is only 6 weeks and offered to start every 2 weeks. Here's the link Courses Template - University of Phoenix
I am sign up to take Nurse 531 through university of pheonix this summer, the total cost is 2,015- that includes application fee and books. I start June 18th. One less course to worry about during school.

Thanks for the clarification dwggccrn, I hope the info will help ICUjjp with his/her decision :)

I just sent everyone in our class an email so we can keep in touch without the restrictions of Allnurses.

I have an interview @ Univ. of Scranton next week. Would someone please give me some info. on what type of interview they conduct? Thank you, in advance. I really appreciate your input.

I too have an interview next week. I have not been on here long enough to be able to PM people so I would like to hear from anyone could help with some direction. Who was on the interview panel? How difficult were the clinical questions? Any Chemistry? What personal questions did they ask? What was the worst thing your last boss could say about you? Help me guide my last few days of preparation please.....should I wear a very formal suit?

To those inquiring about the interview process, sorry I was not able to get back to all of you due to school's very busy schedule. To the people who interviewed, has any of you heard anything back yet? Just curious to know who the new guys will be next year :-)
