Loans and debt and CRNA school...how is it possible?

I've been a BSN for awhile but I haven't worked in an ICU yet (though I am applying for positions)so this is putting the cart before the horse...but, are there SRNAs out there with families and mortgages while they are going to school? How in the world can you take out enough loans to live on and pay for school? This is the biggest obstacle I can see. I have 5 children and a stay-at-home spouse.

Also, I'm sure for many going to anesthetist school requires uprooting the gang and moving to a rental house. I just don't see how a person saddled with a lot of family and financial responsibilities could do it. I have a supportive family and the determination but I'm not sure that will be enough.

I've got the hair up my rear, though, and I'm really stewing over a way I can make it work. I can almost taste the excitement, but I'm worried about how I can make it work.

Save now. Borrow $$ when you get in, pay it off later. Many students are in this same position (family, home, etc).

It is not easy to do with a family, and it is becoming more challenging. Private, direct to lender loans have pretty much disappeared. Really it is going to take savings and school certified loans. I also know students that have borrowed from family. I was lucky enough to sell a home before school and am living on that and school certified loans. You can still get a direct to lender loan through Wells Fargo, but the interest rate is through the roof even with a co-signer. However, if you want it bad enough and your family is supportive, you can make it happen.

I've also been wondering the same thing since the private loan market has dried up for so many for the time being.
