how can i prepare best for CRNA school?

Hi All,

So, a little background about myself. I am a new grad RN, BSN working my first job in the ICU. I've been working there for about 4 months now, and I am very interested in becoming a CRNA or a MDA, not sure which yet...couple of questions:

1) I would like to jump right into learning about anesthesia. Do you think that becoming a part-time anesthesia tech would be helpful? Do I need a certification to become one? How can I get some hands on experience with anesthesia NOW?

2) What additional courses should I take that will be useful to me in CRNA school (ex. Organic Chem?, Biochem?) What courses will look good on my application to CRNA school?
