Future CRNA advice for BSN Texas Tech or UTH

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello, I've been reading on this site for years but I've never posted; I couldn't seem to post in the CRNA section...I am 42 and I am anxious to start my second career as a CRNA. Due to my age I'm trying to get on the fast track. Do any of you have any advice on how to get into the University of Houstons CRNA program?I was going to start my RN to BSN program at Texas Tech in August and be done by May 2013 so I could apply to UTH CRNA program but I realized maybe I should change and get my RN to BSN at there instead. Don't schools usually accept their own students much more than outsiders? The dilema is that if I switch to UTH for my RN to BSN I won't graduate until May of 2014 a whole year later due to their enrollment dates and availability of their online program. But then if I wait a year just to increase my odds only 25 students get accepted out of 125 so my odds are low anyways...not sure what to do. Any advise would be great:) Thanks!!! (my GPA is around 3.75)
