Franciscan Healthcare CRNA program Interview-La Crosse, Wi

Nursing Students SRNA

Hi Everyone,

I have an interview for the Franciscan Healthcare CRNA program in La Crosse, Wisconsin in November. Has anyone interviewed with them recently, like the past couple years? I am just looking for some insight into how they conduct their interviews.

Thanks!

I interviewed there last year. SO laid back. They don't ask any clinical questions whatsoever. They asked why anesthesia, what I do in my spare time, what I think my manager would say about me, and I don't exactly remember what else--but no behavioral questions. Maybe they asked what was my favorite and least favorite thing about my job? I left feeling very uncertain. There are 2 current students, 1 or 2 other professors and (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) (the director) on the committee. I recommend coming with questions for the panel otherwise you might feel awkward when it's been 5 minutes and they ask if you have any questions before they let you go. I was waitlisted last year and (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) told me all the candidates were pretty even, I just had the least amount of experience. Could just be a generic response but if you're barely meeting the experience requirement, it might be worth it to acknowledge the fact that (despite how it looks on paper) you're still competent. Even though I didn't get in, their interview was the first one I went to and provided good experience for future interviews. My best advice is just relax and be personable! Good luck!

Hi crnahopeful2,

Thank you for the information. It is very Helpful! I have my interview tomorrow. I have over 2 years of experience in a level II Trauma center and have my CCRN so I am hoping that I have a good chance.

Thanks so much for the information!

Hey, I interviewed at UW-La Crosse a week ago also. Watching and waiting for any sign of admission is driving me crazy!! Best of luck to you.

Hi Openairway,

Same to you! It's been a long week for sure, are you located in Wisconsin?

Thanks. Currently, I'm located on the west coast and really miss the cold weather. Are you a Wisconsinite?

No, I'm from Colorado. It sounded like there were a lot of people interviewing from all over the place.

During your interview, was there any indication when acceptance decisions and notifications would be made? It's too bad there is not a school in Colorado.

I actually don't mind moving but I think there should definitely be more schools. She said that we should know by mail by Thanksgiving. I haven't received anything yet, I'm hoping today will be the day.

Waiting is so painful.

I hear you. I still haven't received anything either :-/

I have not heard of anyone else receiving any notifications either, so I guess thats sorta good news. In the past years people have heard by now and it seems that it was done by phone call. Have you heard of anyone either in or not in?

Sorry, I can't PM yet.
