Hello Everyone,

I have a few questions and would appreciate honest answers.

I have been admitted to the the CRNA program at Michigan and want to make sure i am making the right decision.

1. Are there international volunteer oppertunities? like docswithoutborders

2. other than hospital/outpatient/dentist where else can CRNA's work? Research, etc

3. Is it hard to switch to administration/educational position?

4. What is you opinion on the future of CRNAs? (seems at this time they are paid well) will it continue? pay for crnas and mda decrease over time?

Thank you for your opinions, I really appreciate it. THANKS!

1. Are there international volunteer oppertunities?
yes, check out mercyships and mexico medical missions

3. Is it hard to switch to administration/educational position?

Probably not, given the lack of profs for CRNA's

What is you opinion on the future of CRNAs? (seems at this time they are paid well) will it continue? pay for crnas and mda decrease over time?
Very bright - as education for nurses continues to get better, and as medicine services continue to get more expensive, chances are that APN services like CRNA's will become used more often and they're powers expanded.

PM me if you'd like some other sources.

1. Yes there are tons of volunteer opportunities

2. Yes you can work independently in all 50 states. The only thing that limits your opportunity is the facility you are in.

3. The only way it would be hard to switch to admin/edu is the salary cut you will take

4. The future of CRNA's is bright. MDA's I believe will take the pay cuts. I think we will remain relatively stable in salary. I think over time there will be less MDA's and more CRNA because of the cost of training. Especially if their salaries decrease.

Hope this helps. Good questions
