Comparing CRNA programs in the Philadelphia/PA area!

Hi Everyone,

I am currently in the process of researching CRNA programs in the Philadelphia/PA area. I have looked into Lasalle/Frank Tornetta, Villanova, , and Upenn. I graduated my BSN with a 3.84 GPA, worked tele for like 7 years and now have been working in an ICU for over a year now. I am also a single parent to a 10 year old boy but am blessed to have incredibly supportive parents and a boyfriend who would be willing to help me with him and financially during the 2 years. I am looking for any insight on which program to choose. I noticed Villanova claims to be the cheapest program coming in around $40-60K and Lasalle is in the $70ks. I also would love some advice on preference on front loaded programs versus integrated programs! Any single parents go through the program, advice, insight, all welcome! I want this so badly, I know I can make this work in my life! Any and all insight will be greatly appreciated!

I have never attended any of the programs you have mentioned but I did work in Philly for 2 years and know people that have gone to two of them (LaSalle and Penn). I originally looked at LaSalle and Villanova for CRNA school but both use rolling admission so you have to apply early with the hopes you'll be accepted for a class 2 years down the road. With that being said, I did not apply to either but both program directors are very quick to email you back with any questions you may have.

Penn is a great program but VERY expensive. I don't know much about . My advice...reach out to Villanova and LaSalle and see where they are in the admissions process. Last that I knew, Villanova and LaSalle were accepting applications for the class that starts in 2018. Good luck!
