Clinical Site Can Determine It All

I'm not quite sure on the details of how the entire process of interviewing and clinical site selection takes place but I do have a question regardless: if you apply to every school in your area (all of which are quite good, in your opinion) -and are lucky enough to be selected by more than one school- and one school asks you whether or not their school is your top pick during the interview, what should your response be if it all essentially comes down to where your clinical site location will be? Any advice?

Would you know where they would like to place you before your interview even takes place (thus rendering this question moot)?

I will likely be one of those students who says "How high?" when the school says: "Jump!" but I wanted to know if your clinical location ever effected your final decision in determining one school over another school. I'm a ways away from grad school still and don't assume I will be so lucky as to be picked by all my top choices but I would rather know a little bit more about the process now; I am hesitant to even ask this question but I am curious if anyone has ever been in this particular situation before?

If one school selects a nearby clinical site in the metroplex and another selects one in another state, for example, I would select the school that offered the clinical site closest to my life and family. Is this fair or reasonable or am I staking too much weight on a particular location?

I do understand that any acceptance into an anesthesia program would be absolutely amazing and am not trying to be grandiose in my thoughts of ever being so lucky to be in this predicament, I'm just curious.

Thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated;)
