Trauma nurse looking for affordable FNP schools

Hello all,

I am a trauma nurse and wanted to know where some excellent, affordable NP schools are. There are hundreds of schools out there but I don't want to be in debt and without a job because I didn't think things through and choose a top notch school. I have a couple of schools in mind and have already applied to one thus far. I have 6 months experience so far and I will have a year by the time I apply for more schools (I'm aiming for the fall 2017 class). I spoke with a counselor at a well known university and she informed that I should be fine since I'll have a year by the time the program starts, so my application should be competitive with others. If I'm not mistaken I have a 3.5 science GPA and a 3.65 electives GPA. The schools here don't require the GRE or MAT so I don't have to worry about that if I get accepted where I currently reside (We have 7 NP schools here 0_0) I just want to make sure all my ducks are in a row because time is of the essence! All opinions are welcome...I guess what pushed me even harder to pursue this dream is that a lot of people told me I'm too young and inexperienced to pursue the NP role right now. Can't wait to get feedback!
