RN - MSN with NP track?

I'm working on my BSN prerequisites currently and have been looking into possibly going straight into a RN- MSN with the option for NP program. There are only 2 schools that offer this track in my area (Houston, TX) and I likely would only be accepted into one. Is anyone doing or perhaps done or considered this sort of track and if so what do you think about it, as opposed the the traditional BSN- MSN or NP? I'm curious what types of programs people have chosen and why? I'm a much older student at 49 and have just recently began seriously thinking about the FNP program, so any suggestions and or thoughts are appreciated :)
