Kaplan Post MSN FNP graduate, California licensing question

Published

Hello Everyone,

If anyone has had experience with graduating from Kaplan FNP program or other out of state based or online FNP program, and has gotten NP licensure in California, please reply.

I am a CA licensed RN, who is in the process of completing Kaplan Post Master'a FNP.

Looking at the CA BRN application for NP license, method one is for CA graduates only. Do they mean that if you graduated from Kaplan, or otherwise you must obtain national certification credentials first and go through method two?

I can't reach the BRN.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Anya

Any luck finding an answer to your question. I reside in California and want to enroll in this program. Would you recommend? Thanks in advance for your input.

The program is of high quality - challenging and rigorous and yes I recommend it in that regard. I hope you have some experience with online classes; they are demanding, but worked for me very well - family, kids, job, etc. When it comes to locating and securing preceptorships throughout the program, you are on your own and that was extremely stressful. I recommend you have a plan.

I have not heard back via email from BRN, nor am I able to reach them over the phone on numerous occasions. They simply don't pick up. I don't know how this is possible.

Thanks.

I am in Kaplan's FNP program. In my opinion, it's not for the faint of heart, though I wouldn't expect any program at this level to be easy. It demands a lot of reading, studying, and most of all--paper writing. It will be worth it in the end, though.

Good luck to you!

Hi Anya,

I am about to begin the Kaplan FNP program, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sag,

I am starting the FNP program tomorrow! How is it going? Did you complete the program? Any advice? It looks super intense so far.

Thanks in advance,

Kelly
