I have been a nurse for 6 years, 3 of those in the ICU. I am a mom of a 6 month old baby, and soon planning for #2. However, I have always been interested in becoming an NP. SO I applied to and was accepted =) Just a bit nervous about juggling both work, school and family. I work the weekends 12 hour shifts, so that leaves my entire week open for school. But I wanted to know if anyone has had to juggle this much and tell me its doable and Im not crazy for doing this lol!!!

Congrats on your acceptance! I've also been accepted into 's FNP 2015 cohort and super excited! Just like you, I'm a weekender (12hrs) but work per diem at another hospital throughout the week. I have 3 kids (4-15) who are pretty involved in everything! However, I will be attending part-time (online) so I'm able to take classes at my own pace. I'm really nervous, but feel that it's time.... after 6 years in medical PCU, I'm ready to advance:-). I received my BSN from Drexel and loved the ease and structure of their online classes. I also live in the Philly suburbs so if you want to email let me know....once again congrats!!!!!

OMG!! I also live in the suburbs of philly and I received my BSN from as well. I love this school which is why i applied to it for my masters. What suburb do you live in? Im in Royersford/Limerick area.

Congrats to you as well!!! So we should look forward into seeing each other this fall =)

Dee... I'm just a little further down the road ..... Pottstown area . Really looking forward to starting but also nervous! Have you contacted an advisor yet? Also... I've heard that a patho test is required before the start of the semester? Any input?

I live near you two just up 422 a little. I just finished the PNP program. I know a few in the FNP who graduate this year and I believe they are all very happy.

Oh and I'll add I have a handful of kids and had a lot of family issues over the last several years (4 deaths) and had some medical issues...survived. It isn't easy...be prepared to sacrifice.

Yes I have spoken to an advisor already and she told me to just sit tight for now that there will be an email sent out to all of us for further instructions on how to register for our classes. She never said anything about needing to take a patho test before the start of the semester.

Are you in the FNP program? I got accepted for this FALL. I am looking for any insight, advice, reccommendation that you have for this program through .

Thank you.
