Family Mental Health NP MSN

Hello all!

I am currently looking for online/distance programs for an MSN in F/PMHNP that provides great education and experience, preferably at a part-time pacing/option, as I will most likely be working part-time to support myself.

I currently live in Florida and the nearest university (USF) has an indefinite hold on their program (Boo!). My only option now, with the closest program being four hours away, with no distance option, is to seek an online format/structure.

So I guess my question is, can anyone recommend or share their experience/knowledge with me regarding reliable and valid education programs and what they may entail?

Any and all help is greatly welcomed and appreciated! Thank-you for reading!

Hey! Sorry I am just seeing this. Unfortunately I had some family hardships over the past few months and have moved back to Michigan; I just applied at Wayne State University, which I hear is pretty good. U of M has an excellent and resilient image not only in Michigan, but I believe nation wide. I would definitely go to U of M if I were accepted, in my opinion anyways :)

Hey! Just wanted to check in and see how things are going with your program! :)

Hey Guys!

How is the school hunt going? I am enrolled at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The FPMHNP program is online and can be taken at a part time rate. I am just now getting ready to begin my Mental Health rotations, but so far the coursework has been challenging (which is good in my eyes), professors seem genuine, and large emphasis on research application to practice. The FPMHNP is one of the few MSN programs left at this university and one of 3 offered online the other NP programs are traditional format. UMKC was recently ranked in the top 10 best online MSN programs with the neonatal online program ranked number 1 in the midwest. There are required on campus residencies (2 I think lasting 4-7 days). The FPMHNP is a relatively new program offered by the university (2 years in existence). I am pleased with my educational experience as of now, and hope when I graduate they will offer a Psych DNP program so I can finish my degree with these professors. I know Florida is a long commute, but this is a great program.

Sorry, I meant to comment here. How is your program going thus far?

Hello kfitzy89!

Just wondering if you ever started at Wayne State? I have applied for the Fall semester and would love some feedback on the program.

Thanks!!
