Did anyone apply to Clarion University's MSN/FNP program for Fall 2015? This was for early decision (will know by Dec. 15th).
My video interview is next Friday 10/17.
Anyone else interviewing?
Anyone who has gone there?
I guess that's a no lol

Hi there. I applied, interviewed, and was accepted into this program in 2012. I even accepted registration, but did not end up going because a better opportunity came up. I do work with friends and coworkers who have gone through/are in this program and this is what I gather from them (as well as my brief experience):
1. The program is highly disorganized.
2. The thesis process is ROUGH, often resulting in endless "extra semesters." The people in charge like to change the rules all the time.
3. When I interviewed, the interviewers were literally dressed in "Thanksgiving" style embroidered sweatshirts. They remarked on "how dressed up" I was because I chose to wear a business suit. (This was really off-putting to me.)
4. I was HIGHLY pressured to do the program full-time...I suspect most do it part-time and they need more full-time students.
5. The more I went through the registration process, the less impressed I was.
Don't let this deter you though, if this program is your best option. I'm not sure where you live (I am located in NW PA), and this may be the best option to get your MSN and become an NP. I opted instead to do a DNP/ACNP distance learning option at another university. If you have other questions feel free to PM me.
Thank you for the information!! Where ARE you going for your DNP?
Ugh. I don't have enough points to PM you. I'm just going to post a series of random symbols and then PM you.
Haha ok!
Oh boy, just read they must be "quality posts." This won't work. I'd rather not publicly say which school, because it will definitely identify myself to anyone who knows me. I can say that I see you are from Youngstown, and that living in Ohio disqualifies you from the program I currently am enrolled in. Are there any other good programs in Y-town?
I sent YOU a PM with further info :-)

Congrats! me too!
