Being a NP and Chiropractor

I am looking for advice on those of you who are licensed chiropractors and continued on to obtain a nursing license. I am looking to become an NP in the future and want to hear your stories and experiences. I want to see more cases and have a strong interest in surgery and acute care. I want a broader scope. I love musculoskeletal but find my self wanting more. I do a lot of PT and rehab now with extremities and thinking of becoming a NP. Has anyone been able to integrate the fields and have the best of both worlds? What kind of nurse are you? How was school in regards to clinicals? And before you ask or comment...no I'm not anti medical or medicine, I don't cure cancer diabetes or attempt to;it is not my scope. There is a place for both worlds and I want be in both worlds. If there's a musculoskeletal issue I feel right at home treating it but I want stronger diagnostic skills outside of this. If anyone has advice on this please share your experience and advice with me. Thanks!

I'm a DC who's been in private practice for a little over 3 yrs and I'm 30 yrs old. I'm preparing to apply to an accelerated program that starts I. the spring. I'm not sure how I can keep my practice open while in the program. The business of Chiropractic is sucking the life out of me! I practice in a rural area that really needs more primary care providers. I was trying to decide between PA and NP, but I think I'm leaning towards NP even though they don't have autonomy in Florida ( correct me if I'm wrong). Once I become an RN, I'm not sure if I'll want to continue with solo practice. There's so much to consider, but my research and my gut tells me this will be a great change. Thanks for the thread! If you have any advice or insight, it's appreciated😊

I know this is old but like yourself I am seriously leaning to working toward FNP. I would like to know how you are doing now and if you have any suggestions.

Thank you

Hi there I know this is an old topic but I read through it as I'm researching for FNP program. I'm a DC, in a few months I will get my BSN. Would you mind sharing where you went to school for the FNP program ?
