Any Moms doing a direct entry NP Program?

Hi Everyone,

I am currently doing pre reqs but will probably start a full time program in Fall next year ( if I get in!). I have a 5 year old who has some special needs and a 2 year old. My husband works from home but does WORK from home...

I'm just wondering if any other momma's did the program with little kiddos and if they have any advice for me?

I'm almost one year into a direct entry program and I have two young kids. It's rough at times, but doable. What's been a huge help for me is having a partner with a somewhat flexible schedule because there will be some rotations that involve leaving home at 5 am and others that involve coming home at 12 am. Everything is in constant flux and my house is a mess but we're still alive!

Thanks for you note Atki,

Yes the schedule is the biggest concern for me- I feel like I'll need to leave the house super early to commute to school on time and they told us that sometimes with clinicals there are evening shifts too, so I'm very worried about my husband essentially single parenting my two kids, particularly because our son has issues that need a lot of monitoring. I have put off school for the past two years because it just never seems like the right time.

Where did you do your program?
