Well, that might not be a good sign if you're having self doubts. On the other hand, I know that their program is selective so you must have qualities that made you stand out. I personally like to to stay away from giving advice on what direction to take for various reasons. I didn't attend that program but I did an ACNP program where majority of the class are experienced ICU and ED nurses and there were certainly an element of "one-upmanship" in our batch though we were also supportive of each other. I would say that in a person with little confidence, this could be intimidating.

Im currently enrolled in a ACNP program. I actually have no ICU or ED experience so self doubt has become my middle name for the past 2 years. I still dont know if I'm in the right program. All you can do is take things one step at a time. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. It honestly doesnt matter if you have 1 year or 20 years nursing experience. You are learning a new trait with new responsibilities so dont let other people's experiences make you feel inferior. If you want to be an ACNP, do it. You are definitely smart enough. Its all just about hard work and dedication to get through everything. Always easier said than done - but try not to compare yourself to others, just to yourself. If you want to do it, then do it!
