Published

I am a Nursing Student in Washington State. I was wondering if you all could respond to this survey for an important

independent study I am working on related to my BSN-RN degree. (the data will not include names or email addresses only

the type of response such has how many yes's or no's and what the common answers may be)

1. Do you have children?

2. Do you have children in daycares?

3. Do you think a Registered Nurse should be full time staff in a daycare setting?

4. How do you think a Registered Nurse would be beneficial in a daycare setting?

5. Would you be wiling to pay more for child care if a Registered Nurse was added to your daycare?

6. Would you be interested in working as a Registered Nurse in a daycare setting?

7. Do you have an interest in the research of adding a Registerd Nurse to full time staff to daycares?

Thank you for your time and help in this project!! Sincerely, Monica Pacific Lutheran University Student (Washington State)

1. Do you have children?

yes

2. Do you have children in daycares?

yes

3. Do you think a Registered Nurse should be full time staff in a daycare setting?

yes and no. Only yes if it is a special needs daycare

4. How do you think a Registered Nurse would be beneficial in a daycare setting?

It would not be beneficial unless in a special needs daycare. I currently work in a daycare center and I am working on my bachelor's degree in nursing. At the daycare I work at the teachers are responsible for giving the medicine, doing asthma treatments, applying first aids on cuts and scrapes and most of the staff are first aid certified. The director in the state I live in is required to take a health, safety, and first aid class as well as the assistant director. I don't feel an R.N. is necessary because it's the teacher is also like a nurse in my opinion. Now if the daycare was a special needs daycare I definetly would say a R.N.is needed.

5. Would you be wiling to pay more for child care if a Registered Nurse was added to your daycare?

I don't feel it's necessary unless it was a special needs daycare

6. Would you be interested in working as a Registered Nurse in a daycare setting?

again I don't feel it's necessary unless it is a special needs daycare

7. Do you have an interest in the research of adding a Registerd Nurse to full time staff to daycares?

For a special needs daycare only.

Thank you for your time and help in this project!! Sincerely, Monica Pacific Lutheran University Student (Washington State)
