Team Nursing in Community Mental Health

Specialties Psychiatric

Hello All,

I am new to the list and have been searching for a venue where I might find information on using a Team Nursing model in community Mental Health. I am currently working in a program that services clients who have severe and persistant mental disorders. Most of them are never discharged from this program. We are looking for a model which would allow us to rotate through a client base on a preset time frame to prevent burn out. This would allow us to know each others clients as we do not have back up for holidays, sickness etc. and also to promote a fresh approach to client issues. One tends to bog down when working with the same individual over a span of years. We felt the team approach would be of advantage to both client and nurse, noting they most likely need a change from us too!

If anyone is working in such a system or knows how I can access the information, I would appreciate hearing from them either personally or in discussion on the list.

Regards,

SLB
