Waitlisted for University of Portland

Hello Everyone,

I was recently waitlisted for University of Portland. I would like to know if I should keep some hope that I may get it. Sometimes I believe I should due to how I got waitlisted but I know it pretty much depends on someone giving up their spot. It's kind of a long story for how I got waitlisted but I'll make short. Basically there was an error on my application which led the SON to believe my application was incomplete and so they didn't consider it. I called admissions after waiting what seemed like forever for a letter to come in the mail. I was able to talk to Linda and she said she would see if the SON would like to take a look at my application. I got a call back about 20 minutes later saying she had spoken with the dean and that after viewing my application the only reason they believe I probably wouldn't have gotten in is due to my lack of experience. I've worked really hard and have what I believe is a good GPA so I honestly thought I had a good chance of being accepted. Anyways, she said they were placing me as priority on the waitlist, but she didn't exactly give me a number. Like I said, I feel hopeful that I may get in since I have been listed as "priority", but I would really appreciate some advice or to be given some sort of hope. ha. Does anybody know when people get call off the waitlist, or when people deny their spots if they even do so? How many people usually get called from the waitlist at UP?

Thanks!
