Pre-requisites for UConn Nursing program

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello all,

I am currently not enrolled in any pre-nursing program as of yet. I have spent copious hours on the computer, on the university websites and figure some of you may have some more straight forward answers.

A brief history of me:

I graduated with a BFA/BA about three years ago. I received my CNA after graduation and spent a summer volunteering at a local hospital. I have ever since been doing whatever job pays my bills. (Banking at the moment).

I might also add that my college did not grade on a letter grade system, but that my high school GPA was 3.44.

So that being said, I have a lot of work to do if I want to get into any of the accredited BSN programs in CT.

I have specifically been looking at Central's program (both accelerated and non), Quinnipiac, UConn, and St. Joseph's. I am weary of looking at ADN because I hear that nobody hires unless you have a BSN (any in-site on this anyone?).

I cannot figure out what to do because each individual school requires different pre-reqs and I would rather be able to all my prereqs at once instead of having to go back if I'm missing one.

That being said, does any one here have any suggestions on the best way to proceed? I am afraid of going through all of this school and not being accepted into anything.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Meg
